Garth Mr. Thomas Colleton Garth, J.P., Master of the Garth foxhounds for over 50 years, died yesterday morning at his residence, Haines-hill, Twyford, Berks, at the age of 85. He retired from the mastership of hounds about six years ago. He was president of the Wokingham Agricultural Association, this year's show being held on his estate, and he was present and took great interest in the proceedings three weeks ago. Mr. Garth was born in 1822, and was the only son of the late Captain Thomas Garth, R.N., of Haines-hill, and of Charlotte, the eldest daughter of the late General Frederick Maitland. He was educated at Eton and Christchurch, Oxford, taking his degree of B.A. in 1844 and his M.A. in 1847.
