In the 1841 Census, Thomas was living at Great Gate with a Susan Pearce (20) and two servants, male (14) and female (20).

In the 1851 Census, Thomas Harris was staying with his daughter and son-in-law at South Allington House. He was described as a land proprietor born in Aveton Gifford.

Thomas married Elizabeth Prettejohn, daughter of Walter Prettejohn and Mary Pearce, 13 October 1807 - IGI in Chivelstone. (Elizabeth Prettejohn was born in 1781, christened on 4 Oct 1781 and died 1839 - September Quarter.)
