Civil List Pensions.--The following is an official list of pensions granted between the 20th day of June, 1847 and the 20th day of June, 1848, and charged upon the Civil List........................Catherine Worsam Maitland, £50, widow of General Frederick Maitland; in consideration of his distinguished military services; in trust to Captain Frederick Thomas Maitland and Mr. Thomas Cotherton Garth.
The Gentleman's Magazine - May 1853 Obituary April 7 1853 At Portsmouth, aged 84, Catherine-Worsam, relict of Gen. Frederick Maitland. She was the daughter of John Puttijohn (sic) Esq. of Barbados, was married in 1790, and left a widow in 1848, having had issue the late Captain John Madan Maitland, Major Frederick Thomas Maitland, and two daughters, the widow of Capt. Thomas Garth, R.N. and the late Mrs. Donald Maclean.

Catherine married General Frederick Maitland, son of Sir Alexander Maitland - First Baronet and Penelope Madan, on 11 Nov 1790. (General Frederick Maitland was born on 3 Sep 1763 and died on 27 Jan 1848 in Tunbridge Wells.)
