Married by licence. Brother William Pitts and friend Samuel Pearce were witnesses. The Pearce family seem closely linked to these Pitts.
The Will of Nicholas Pitts was made on 2 August 1801. In the preamble he refers to himself as Nicholas Pitts of Buston in the parish of Stokenham. He beqeathed £400 to his daughter Elizabeth Clarke Pitts and the remainder to his sons William and Nicholas. He referred to lands in the parishes of Stokenham, Chivelstone and Portlemouth. The will is labelled on the outside "25 January 1806 - Probate of the last will of Mr Nicholas Pitts of South Allington."
Nicholas married Elizabeth Clark, daughter of Richard Clark and Dorothy Bold, on 23 Nov 1797 in Chivelstone, Devon. (Elizabeth Clark was born in 1758 in Chivelstone, Devon, christened on 6 Jun 1758 in Chivelstone and died on 18 Dec 1831 in Blackawton, Devon.)
