Cyprian Pearce Prettejohn

  General Notes:

1871 Census:

Cyprian (43) was described as a draper at Parade, Withycombe Raleigh, Exmouth living with his wife Tryphena, their daughter Florence Mary, two drapers assistants and a servant.

1881 Census:

Cyprian and his wife were both silk mercers. They were living at 11 Parade, Withycombe Rawleigh, Devon. They resided with their children and one general servant.

1891 Census:

Cyprian and Tryphena were living with only one of their children at home, viz Florence who was 21 years old. Clara was working as a draper's Asssisant in St. Petrock. The address was recorded as Cotton, Hayne in the Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish (nr Crediton) Cyprian was described as a farmer.

Tryphena and Cyprian were distant cousins and had a common great great grandfather, Nathaniel Prettejohn (b. 1696).

Cyprian married Tryphena Prettejohn, daughter of Nathaniel Prettejohn and Anne Goddard, on 14 Jun 1866 in Kingsbridge. (Tryphena Prettejohn was born 1840, June Q in Alton, Selborne, Hampshire and died 1915, March Q in Newton Abbott.)
