Sacred to the memory of Charles Hugh Key, late captain 2nd Dragoon Guards, died May 3, 1862 in the 46th year of his age.

On the top:

In memory of Alfred Ingleby Garnett of Haughton Hall in this county, captain 8th King's Own Regiment died February 5th 1889 aged 67 years.

Catherine wife of the above died April 23rd 1892 aged 60 years.

Captain Charles Hugh Key, who was a tenant of Haughton Hall, married Catherine Holloway, who was afterwards married to Captain Alfred Ingleby Garnett, and they continued to reside at Haughton, which was then the property of Captain Garnett's brother, the Rev. William Bishton Garnett-Botfield, of Decker Hill, co. Salop, who sold it, in 1889, to Mr. Brocklebank, the present owner. The Rev. W. B. Garnett-Botfield was preacher of Bunbury from 1853 to 1863, and in the latter year was authorised by royal licence to take the name and arms of Botfield.

16. Rev. Wm. Garnet, A.M., Rector of Tilstone, Cheshire, to Elizabeth Sophia, dau. of the late J. Bishton, esq., of Kelsalt (Kilsall) Hall, Shropshire.

Elizabeth Sophia Bishton was born about 1798 and baptised 4 December 1798 at Nantwich, Cheshire. She died there during the December quarter of 1869, aged 70. She was the daughter of John Bishton.

William Garnett, born in 1766, became the Reverend William Garnett and married Elizabeth Sophia Bishton, daughter of John Bishton. The Bishtons were a wealthy family, and William Garnett's son, the Reverend William Bishton Garnett inherited the family estate at Decker Hill, Shifnel, as well as the royal license to use the Botfield name in conjunction with the Garnett name.

April 17th, 1785. 1798. Elizabeth Sophia, the daughter of John Bishton, junr. of Kilsall, Gent and Sophia his wife, was baptized privately December 4th, 1798, and afterwards received into the Church.
