He died on 26 October 1944 at age 23 at Italy, killed in action. Lieutenant Guy Leo Paget fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.

A memorial plaque on the south wall of the chapel records the death in the Second World War of Berkeley Henry Vansittart Paget and his brother Guy Leo Paget, the last male heirs to the estate.

The Forli War Cemetery
The cemetery site was selected soon after the British Eighth Army took Forli in November 1944 and graves were brought into it from the surrounding battlefields. Many of those buried there lost their lives in the heavy fighting between Rimini and Ravenna which took place in appalling weather in October-December 1944.
