The Rev. William CHESTER, A.M., Rector of Denton, has been presented to the valuable Living of Walpole St. Peter, in this county - Patron, The King.
Reverend William Chester was born on 27 May 1775. He was the son of Charles Chester and Catherine Legge. He married Hon. Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of Henry Wilson, 10th Lord Berners and Elizabeth Sumpter, on 8 January 1810. He died on 22 November 1838 at age 63.
Reverend William Chester graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.). He was the Rector at Denton, Norfolk, England.

Nov. 22. At Torquay, aged 62, the Rev. William Chester, Rector of Denton, Norfolk. He was a son of Charles Chester, esq. of Chicheley, Bucks; was matriculated at Christ church, Oxford, in 1793, and graduated B.A. in 1797. Soon after he was elected to a fellowship at Merton; proceeded M. A. 1800 ; and in 1807 was presented to the rectory of Denton by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who collates to that preferment one who is, or has been, a Fellow of that society.
